
Reverend John A. Jones was educated in the Washington, D.C. public school system. He attended Bowie State College, Washington Bible College, Washington Baptist Seminary and the University of Richmond, Richmond, Virginia.
From 1971-76, Rev. Jones pastured two churches in Virginia; Oxford Mt. Zion Baptist Church, Sparta, VA. In 1976 he was called to the First Nazarene Baptist Church, Camden, New Jersey.
Pastor Jones has been the keynote speaker on numerous occasions, both locally and internationally. His ministry to Foreign Missions has been extensive. He has preached in San Andres, Columbia, South America, Barbados, West Indies and Haiti. He has also preached the Word in the historic Providence Baptist Church, Liberia, West Africa.
Pastor Jones’ many affiliations include past Assistant Treasurer of the Foreign Mission Bureau of the Progressive National Baptist Convention, member of the Major’s Advisory Committee, past Chairman of the Bethany Baptist Ministers’ Retreat, honorary member of the Camden Police Department, Chaplain for the New Jersey State Troopers and a member of the Boys & Girls Club of Camden.
Outreach services begun under his administration include transportation for the elderly, food and clothing storehouse for the needy and the “Nazarene Hour”, a Sunday morning weekly radio ministry on WTMR 800 AM Dial, Camden, N.J.
Pastor Jones has lectured for many conferences and is known as the “Bible Preacher”. He has a special love for Missions and the prophetic scriptures. Pastor Jones is constantly in demand from all sectors of the community. Under his leadership Pastor Jones and the Nazarene family moved into their new sanctuary in February, 2007. We thank God for Pastor’s vision.
He is the father of two children, Phillip and Tita. His family also includes his beloved daughter-in-law Daphne and two grandsons, Bryce and Brandon.
